Benefits of Acomplia

• Helps individuals lose weight
• Increases good cholesterol levels
• May help patients quit smoking

How It Works

Acomplia helps obese individuals to lose weight by suppressing their appetite. It lowers the activity level of certain neural receptors in the brain that regular and control your food intake. The diet drug is generally prescribed to people who have a body mass index (BMI) higher than 30 or who have a higher BMI than 27 along with various risk factors such as dyslipidaemia and type 2 diabetes.

Taking Acomplia

Acomplia is available in two different doses: 10 mg and 20 mg. Most patients are prescribed the latter dose to help them lose weight. If this is the case, you should take one 20 mg pill in the morning with a full glass of water. You also need to take the diet pill on an empty stomach or it won’t be effective. Therefore, wait one hour before you eat breakfast after taking the pill.

If you happen to forget a pill, take it when you remember. However, you should not double your dosage as it could be dangerous to your health and will not increase the pill’s ability to help you lose weight.

Possible Side Effects

As with any type of medication, Acomplia can cause a small range of side effects. These may include muscle cramps, upset stomach, diarrhea, sleep disorders, nausea and dizziness. However, these are normal side effects that you will often experience when you are on a diet. They will normally subside as your body becomes accustomed to taking the diet pill.
