Most Common Symptoms of Hemmorhoids
The most common symptoms of hemorrhoids are itching, rectal pain and bleeding during bowel movement. Other than these, swelling of anal veins, lumps found in the rectal region, feeling of fullness in the rectal area, feeling of unfinished rectal defecation even though you just defecated, severe rectal pain and mucus discharge in the anal area are other symptoms.
There are two major classifications of hemorrhoids, external and internal. Rectal pain is often associated with the external classification. This happens when there is a blood clot formed inside the swollen veins, thus causing the pain. This usually feels like pebble outside the anus.
On the other hand, rectal bleeding is usually associated with the internal classification. Most of the time after passing stool, one will notice blood on the toilet paper or on the toilet bowl, sometimes surrounding the stool. This type also causes itching because of the mucus that it sometimes discharges that irritates the anal skin. This mucus can also cause skin irritation. Discomfort is another indication. Right after every bowel movement, one will feel the need to pass stool again. This is caused by the bulge formed located at the end of the large intestine or the anal canal. Aside from this, pain is also another indication. This happens when the swollen veins are squeezed by the anal muscles. Emergency treatment is needed for those who are experiencing severe pain because it is an indication that the blood supply is being cut off. These are just some of the few symptoms of hemorrhoids which are the most common basis used to diagnose this condition.
